Gaylord Entertainment Awards Seven Scholarships to Student Leaders

NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 11, 2007 - Gaylord Entertainment Co. (NYSE: GET) has awarded scholarships to seven graduating high school students as part of the 2007 Gaylord Entertainment Scholarship Program. Each of the recipients received a $1,000 scholarship renewable for the number of years usually required to complete a degree.

“We are extremely proud of this year’s Gaylord Entertainment Scholarship recipients,” said Melissa Buffington, senior vice president of Human Resources and Communications. “We applaud these young people for their academic performance, extracurricular success and community service and wish them all the best as they begin their college careers.”

The seven Gaylord Entertainment Scholarship recipients are:

Baccari graduated from Edward S. Marcus High School in Flower Mound, Tex. where he was a member of the varsity football team. He will study economics and finance at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Ga. this fall.

Griffith, a graduate of Winter Haven Senior High School in Winter Haven, Fla., is planning to major in business and management at the Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla. He is a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and Meals On Wheels.

Neal graduated from Glenwood Springs High School in Glenwood Springs, Co. where she was active in the music and theatre programs and a member of the National Honor Society. She plans to major in education at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Wa.

O’Brian attended Fort Walton Beach High School in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. where she was captain of the softball and weightlifting teams. She will attend the University of South Florida in Tampa, Fla. to major in business and management.

Rodrigues is a recent graduate of Cypress Creek High School in Orlando, Fla. where he was in the marching band, the Kumon Math Program and an elected member of the Portuguese Language Class. He plans to study psychology at Valencia Community College in Orlando, Fla.

Skaggs graduated from Wilson Central High in Mt. Juliet, Tenn. where she was a student representative on the Wilson County Schools Board of Education. She was president of the Sweet Adeline’s Womens Barbershop Ensemble and president of Tri-M Music Honor Society, vice president of the Military History Club and earned the Girl Scout Gold Award, in part, based on her community service at the Tennessee School for the Blind. She will attend Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky. where she will study political science.

Smith, valedictorian of his graduating class at Pearl-Cohn High School in Nashville, Tenn., will attend the Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tenn. He was president of Business Professionals of America, captain of the varsity basketball team, student government vice president, a member of the Mayor’s Youth Council and a member of Imagine College.

The Gaylord Entertainment Scholarship Program was established more than 20 years ago to provide children of Gaylord Entertainment employees with an opportunity to obtain financial aid for higher education and to encourage the pursuit of higher education.

Students eligible for the scholarship are dependent children of Gaylord Entertainment employees. Each year, eligible high school seniors are awarded a $1,000 scholarship that is renewable for the number of years usually required to complete a degree as long as the student makes normal and satisfactory academic progress.
